This notice explains how the Mazewski Family Archive handles personal and family information, what members are expected to do with it, and how to raise a concern.

Information kept in the archive
The archive may contain names, family relationships, dates and places connected with life events, biographies, photographs, documents, stories, sources, family branches, and account email addresses. It also records proposals, review decisions, and important account activity so changes remain accountable.
Why information is used
Information is used only to preserve and explore family history, connect relatives, review contributions, operate private accounts, send optional archive notifications, maintain security, and provide authorized exports. It is not sold or used for advertising.
Who can see and change information
Access is invitation-only. Guests may browse approved family information. Members may also propose contributions. Curators and administrators review proposals, and administrators manage accounts and access. Family information must not be copied, published, or shared outside the archive without appropriate permission.
Living people and sensitive information
Living relatives deserve particular care. Contributors should not add home addresses, telephone numbers, government identification, financial information, medical information, precise current locations, or other unnecessary sensitive details. A person with a linked account can hide selected profile details from guests and members; curators and administrators retain access for archive maintenance. Before uploading a photograph or personal story, consider whether the people involved would reasonably expect it to be included.
Storage and service providers
The application uses Supabase for authentication, database records, and private file storage; Vercel for application hosting and aggregate traffic analytics; and Resend for sign-in and optional notification email delivery. Access controls and time-limited media links reduce exposure, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Email notifications
Eligible accounts may receive daily or weekly summaries about newly approved family members and photographs. Notification choices can be changed at any time under Your Account. Guest accounts begin with notifications turned off.
Corrections, privacy requests, and access
Family members may propose corrections and request that a person, relationship, photograph, or other supported content be archived. You may also ask the archive administrator to correct information about you, remove or untag a photograph, hide information, revoke your account, or address another privacy concern. Contact the family member who invited you or the archive administrator directly.
